In response to the implementation of the Social Value Act 2012, the Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility has been developed. This outlines mandatory principles which Birmingham City Council must adopt in order to enhance its social value generation. Organisations working closely with the council have also been invited to adopt the principles.

Kirklees Council developed a Social Value Policy Statement to ensure social value creates “a wider benefit than would otherwise have been achieved”. This policy statement establishes a set of values, principles and outcomes that the council will adopt and use to inform behaviours.

Glendale Services – Grounds management contract

Background Info

Glendale Services was awarded a grounds maintenance and tree management contract worth £2 million by Bolton at Home – a social housing provider which owns 18,000 homes. This contract starts on April 1st 2015 and runs for free years with an option to extend further. The contract is aimed at improving the economic, social and environmental well-being of the local community.
